My Story

I'm taking on Follow the Seagulls in support of brainstrust and the brain tumour community.

It's Mum's birthday today (22nd August). Well, it would have been had it not been for a brain tumour killing her from the inside. She managed to get one week's pension before she passed, that's all she wanted before she passed, I still see that smile and smile with her.

The charity helped me as best they could but 3 months rushed by, symptoms changed everyday, my feet did not touch the floor, but I know the charity were there for me, to answer any questions and to hold my hand as I went through this horrific journey with mum. It's been 2 years now and it's time I gave back. Mum would think I'm mad for doing this and I probably am given that the walk from the bedroom to the office next door tires me out! And don't give get me started on the traffic on that commute, tripping over the cat is a fear I have to deal with daily.

It would mean the world to me to help support this amazing charity to make sure no one has to go through what we did as a family.

Feel free to sponsor against me doing it! I'm actually worried about what I've signed up for.

30 people in the UK will be diagnosed with a brain tumour today. For them and their loved ones, the road ahead looks scary and uncertain. I'm taking on this challenge to ensure that every person who hears to words 'you have a brain tumour' has access to the support they need to have their best possible day, everyday.
