My Story

Why?

"30 people in the UK will be diagnosed with a brain tumour today. For them and their loved ones, the road ahead looks scary and uncertain. We believe in a world where people with a brain tumour and their loved ones are involved, resourced, confident and connected. They are living the life they want, to the best of their potential, because they are people first, and patients and carers second." Brainstrust.

Living near the SW coast path we are well aware of its beauty and also its demanding terrain! Taking on the Follow the Seagulls charity walk (50 miles, 2 days, on foot) as a team; mother, daughter and our two best friends, is not only a personal challenge but also to support this fabulous charity . A few months ago, my eldest son told me that one of his closest friends had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, just as he graduated from university. It is impossible to imagine the stress and trauma that he and his family are facing. Brainstrust exist to support such families and our aim is to raise as much money as we can to support brainstrust.
